Angielove Cabiles got a chance to showcase
her killer spikes when she steered Minglanilla to win the Cluster 1
title of the Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup for Women last
weekend at their home court.
Cabiles recently graduated from the University of San Jose Recoletos, which she helped win a grandslam in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.
This time, Cabiles anchored Minglanilla, which won the title after sweeping all of its assignments last weekend to end their bid with a 5-0 win-loss record.
Minglanilla exploited homecourt edge to oust Alcoy, 25-8, 25-11, Dalaguete, 25-15, 25-13 and Argao, 25-7, 25-9, last Saturday. They were equally dominant in the final day, where they pulled off easy wins over San Fernando, 25-9, 25-16 and Minglanilla, 25-15, 25-22.
Taking second place is Dalaguete with a 4-1 record after. It defeated Sibonga, San Fernando, Alcoy and an easy win over Argao.
