THE PROJECT
PBSP, in partnership with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Karl Kubel Stiftung fur Kind un Familie, is implementing the “Poverty Alleviation Through Integrated Resource Management Project” in Bohol, which provides technical and financial assistance on rice productivity, promotion of organic farming, infrastructure, capital and marketing to marginal farmers in Bohol. It has supported local companies to identify and implement corporate-community partnerships beneficial to their value chains.

To achieve the goals of this project, PBSP urgently needs a qualified individual to fill in the following position:

FINANCE OFFICER

Job Summary
The Finance Officer maintains the books of accounts of the project and generates financial reports needed for monitoring of financial status.

The Task
Checks and verifies cash disbursements of the project; liquidation of handled accounts and cash advances; prepares required journal entries for handled accounts; operates general ledger system by encoding verified financial transactions; prepares financial accounting reports, undertakes regular and fund bank reconciliation; maintains subsidiary ledgers on handled accounts; closely coordinates with project staff involved on financial systems and procedures for handled accounts; maintains an organized filing system for documents, records and reports related to the handled accounts; provides assistance to CBOs/cooperatives on their financial systems through facilitating seminars and coaching; provides direct assistance to external auditors for their requirements on audit of handled projects and performs other functions as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
The Requirements
Qualified applicant must be a graduate of BS Accountancy or any related course, between 22 to 30 years old. He/She must have at least 2 years work experience on financial accounting and combined involvement in local or community development. He/She must also be computer literate with good verbal and written communication skills and willing to travel.
